Review: Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro

My review on MTNN (which I'm currently obsessed with).

Summary: Neuro is a being from the underworld, who likes to eat "riddles" and "mysteries" and since he had heard that mysteries abound in the world above, he comes to the surface side in search of finding the "ultimate riddle" to satisfy his hunger. He arrives in front of Yako Katsuragi whose father has just been murdered and smells a tasty riddle... and in turn helps her.
Neuro forces Yako to become a detective and goes in search of riddles to feed on.

Title: Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro
Author/Artist: Matsuei Yuusei

Manga: Complete.
Art: A bit strange at first, but you get accustomed to it eventually. You also see the mangaka progress in the later chapters as well. I enjoyed it thoroughly because it was something completely new to me.
Characters: AMAZING. The character's all stay true to their nature - all unique on some level, and all have some sort of... comparison to regular people. I caught myself at points thinking "Holy crap, that's what I'd be saying.." And, of course, Neuro is the sadistic demon that makes every situation end with a laugh - especially with that "blank" look you'll soon discover~
Plot/Storyline: To be honest, I was skeptical of this manga - I usually go for the fluffy shoujo stuff. But the art was interesting, and I was hoping to see some development in the characters.
I'm not sure exactly how this would come up to par against similar genres, but for me it was wonderful. The arcs were clean and executed quite well (except for the final one... it felt as though it was dragged on, but I think it was necessary to fit in all the details). The ending was left fairly open, but in a good way that the reader was satisfied and had many questions answered, as well as free to wonder about the future of the characters - it left me still feeling for the characters, even though the "book" was over, it didn't mean that their story was. (: Very refreshing.
Plus the fact I'm a fangirl and this gave my fanfiction writing meter a boost of 8.9!
I would just like to add - in NO WAY was this considered "romance". There may have been some "fangirl" moments, BUT that depends on how the reader perceives the situation. So if you don't like romance - read it. Try it. If you DO like romance - still go for it! That's what fanfiction is for my dear.

Anime: Complete.
Art: Good! Kept well with the manga, though some of the characters outfits changed (only slightly). Enjoyable.
Storyline/Plot: Overall - the plot WAS quite different from the manga. But, to be quite honest, I thoroughly enjoyed both versions! They kept the HAL arc (THANK GOD! -kisses floor-), and had a good outcome - the pieces fit together quite nice. Not much more to say about it - though I did watch the anime first, so I'm not sure if that impaired my judgement...
Voice Actors: (Just thought I'd throw it in here) Obviously I'm not the best person to be comparing acting skills (lulz..), BUT I really did enjoy the cast. (: The girl's voices were not crazy sweet - everyone had a "dark side" to fit into the plot nice and snug. It was good (to me, anyway).

Overall - A great series and worth at least trying it out. If you've read at least part of this - please, comment! (: Or if you've already read the series, give your input!

A Saturday Morning

This is so awkward, only because I have no idea what to say.
I guess I'd call this an "average" post, because it's my first one, and it actually has something to do with myself.

Listening to: k-ON! Opening (So catchy~)

Tomorrow, I'm going to a final interview. For a job? No! For a house? No!
FOR A GREYHOUND! (It's been a 2 month journey, I'm so excited right now!)

(: I'll say it right now - I love animals. My goal is to become a vetrinarian. So expect future posts of my pets (I have a cat already, who is actually biting my leg).
As explained in my "About Me" section - I am an otaku. If you know what that is, then I think we may get along. If you don't - I'm obsessed with manga, anime, movies, etc. And A LOT of Japan's fashion! (Although I'm too fat to fit into it...) I enjoy going to cons, making cosplays, making any type of clothing actually (I'm still a beginner), reading manga online (fan-scanlations), and being a fangirl. I also enjoy reading/writing fanfiction - though I've yet to upload any of my stories.
That's probably the most extended "About Me" I've ever written. To put it in short: I love cute things~

If you took the time to read this, thank you. (: Hopefully I can come up with something more interesting next time... If you have any suggestions, please tell me!
I'll try and write a review next time, because I love doing them. ;D
